Goldi

Tens of millions of people on a diet and/or dealing with allergies (the real number is over 100M) do not have a platform to support them in a world where time is increasingly scarce and people are flocking to delivery services for meals. Goldi fixes that.

MY ROLE

Hired by the development shop, Devscale, as a contract product owner for the consumer application and merchant web-based platform. I worked with the client to take the products from conception to development. I led discovery calls with the client, created the requirements list, and worked closely with the product designer and lead engineer of the development shop.

DURATION -  3 Months

PRODUCT (Merchant Web Application)

From a restaurant perspective, we allow establishments to multiply their potential consumer base by catering to a wide variety of dietary requirements without underlying menu or inventory changes. We will do this through a proprietary restaurant template, lifestyle mapping and our menu customization engine. Data - both restaurant level and aggregate, is also part of our offering to restaurants. Finally, we aim to allow the functionality that exists for remote ordering to work within the dine-in environment.

PRODUCT (Consumer Application)

From a consumer perspective, we work with a curated set of restaurants that meet our standards for catering to healthy lifestyles, in addition to restaurants that have been hand-selected for being 'worth the cheat'. We provide an interface through which users can tell us how they and their family members want to eat, and which enables seamless ordering for each person based on individual dietary preferences.

KEY TAKEWAYS

  • Research interviews helped prioritize the features that fit within the MVP scope.

  • A white-glove approach for merchant onboarding helps with providing the most value to consumers.

  • The user-experience and workflows need to be nailed down prior to UI designs. Re-branding and other design decisions can change as the user-experience is fleshed out.

  • Creating template spreadsheets to present reports help non-technical clients understand lists/matrixes/tables development needs to define scope.
