MyTestPal

MyTestPal is a COVID test scheduling application that will be used by television and film studios to manage the testing requirements for their cast and crew. This application will revolutionize and streamline the testing and screening process for health-related screening for production studios.

MY ROLE

Hired by the development shop, Devscale, as a contract product owner for the web-based application, I worked with the client to take the products from conception to Phase 1 Development. I led discovery calls with the client, created the requirements list, and worked closely with the product designer and lead engineer of the development shop.

The production management app will be used by the studio’s production team. It focused on registering the studio’s product information and determining the role and the relationship to the zones for each of the predetermined roles. Typically, the account will be used only by the team managing the production (and not executives or others who work for the studio).

The employee (cast/crewmember) application focused on registering the individual’s information, determining the individual’s role, and utilize the scheduling configuration logic to determine the individual’s test dates and testing types.

KEY TAKEWAYS

  • Creating a process map helped confirm alignment between product and client on MVP.

  • If the client can be boarded to Figma, providing them comment access can accelerate the approval process for designs.

  • Features should always have goals associated with them. If a product can tie the feature back to a business requirement or solution, then features for MVP can clearly be prioritized.
